Disaster relief
& crisis recovery

Play is critical to help children heal following a disaster, as they deal with the stress of lost homes, lost loved ones, lost routine and lost normalcy. That is why KaBOOM! established our Disaster Relief and Crisis Recovery Task Force. This task force follows a roadmap to respond when there are natural or man-made disasters that have an impact on kids. We help kids when they need it most.

Disaster Recovery Grants

Target, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, The CarMax Foundation, UnitedHealthcare and The Allstate Foundation are among the first to commit a total of $2.3 million to support on-going recovery efforts and ensure nearly 88,000 kids in impacted regions have 35 new or refurbished playspaces.

Through the generous funding from our partners, KaBOOM! is offering a slate of grants to communities that have been impacted by hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, and by the wildfires in California. Each grant opportunity will be awarded on a rolling basis, as applications are received. Opportunities are limited, so please considering applying today. Have questions? Contact us at grants@kaboom.org.

Playground Re-opening Grants

The Playground Re-opening Grant will accelerate recovery efforts for your community, restoring play for kids as quickly as possible. The grants are designed to bring playgrounds back to a state where they are fully functional and safe for use by kids. The Playground Re-opening Grant will provide up to $4,500 for labor and material costs associated with re-opening the playground.
