NFL stars help to build playground at King Kids Academy in East Tampa

Tampa, FL (January 26, 2009) ·

Eight NFL Neighborhood MVPs, along with volunteers from The Home Depot, organizers from the nonprofits KaBOOM!, CDC of Tampa and Tampa Bay Family CDC, plus members of the local community are joining forces to build an entire playground for King Kids Academy in just one day. This All-Star playground build will provide a safe and fun place to play for the more than 4,600 children who use the East Tampa park.

The playground build is the culmination of The Home Depot NFL Neighborhood MVP program that for two years has recognized and celebrated NFL players for their commitment to giving back to their local communities. At the start of the season, 17 players were selected league-wide for their efforts in giving back to the community. The list was narrowed to eight finalists who are being recognized at the All-Star playground build as part of Super Bowl XLIII-week festivities.
