25 Partners in 5 Years

Over a five-year period, KABOOM! will establish partnerships with 25 different municipal systems across the country to achieve equitable access to quality playspaces, ensuring that every child can experience the critical developmental benefits of having quality places to play.

KABOOM! believes that when every kid has amazing places to play, communities will thrive and create generations of healthy and happy kids. Yet, across the nation we see widespread playspace inequity, the reality that communities of color disproportionally lack access to – and a sense of belonging in – quality playspaces.

    70-80% of BIPOC census tracts lacked access to recreational facilities vs. 38% of predominantly white census tracts (National Institutes of Health)

    Parks in majority non-white neighborhoods are half as large and nearly 5x more crowded than parks that serve a majority white population. (Trust for Public Land)
