Washington, D.C.

Today, KaBOOM!, the national non-profit dedicated to giving all kids the childhood they deserve through great, safe places to play, announced that John-Anthony Meza has joined the senior leadership team as Vice President of Talent, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. In this position, John-Anthony will lead the organization’s talent management work and drive the diversity, equity and inclusion strategy so critical to its success. Too many kids face significant barriers to living active, healthy and playful lives in safe and connected communities. KaBOOM! is focused on addressing inequity in the opportunity kids have to play in order to counter disparate health, education and other outcomes based on race, socio-economic status and other factors.

“Attracting, growing and retaining the best talent who share our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is essential to achieve our ambitious vision of ensuring that all kids, regardless of zip code, get the childhood they deserve filled with play,” said James Siegal, CEO of KaBOOM!. “John-Anthony has a proven track record of strong and effective leadership in talent management in the private and non-profit sectors, with a priority on diversity, equity and inclusion, and I am thrilled that he is joining our team.”

John-Anthony brings over 20 years of leadership experience in talent management, performance management, change management and diversity, equity and inclusion. He served in leadership roles with Community Health Accreditation Partner, Corporate Voices for Working Families, KPMG and, most recently, Raffa Companies. He has also led corporate social responsibility initiatives, including as National Director of Corporate Citizenship at KPMG, where he guided the firm’s annual giving, managed its disaster relief grant making and grew employee volunteering and giving programs.

“I’m excited to join an organization that is committed to ensuring they have the exceptional talent who can work every day to better the lives of all kids,” said John-Anthony Meza. “I look forward to leading initiatives that will ensure our staff and culture are well-positioned to support the needs of the communities KaBOOM! serves.”
