City of Olean Olean, NY
The new parklet includes many activities: a rock climbing wall, LED glow swings, a train station playground, climbers, tunnels, slides, oversized musical instruments, an outdoor ping pong table and seating. A custom-made wooden fence provides a buffer from nearby railroad tracks.
The City of Olean installed the parklet in a former vacant lot, located in their downtown corridor near a mall, a community college, and public housing. The area has recently undergone transformation into a more walkable and bikeable corridor featuring traffic calming measures. The Parklet is a connecting point to the Safe Routes to School Trail and the Allegheny River Valley Trail.
