The Urban Conga Inc. Miami, FL
Urban Conga, a collective group of creators activating urban spaces through interactive installations, partnered with the Little Haiti community in Miami, local artist Serge Toussaint, and the Little Haiti Cultural Complex to create this installation.
It is a series of social benches that contain drums created off of the traditional Haitian Rada Batterie drums. A permanent installation, Entangled is a place for kids and families in the community to share, create, dance, and inspire.
As Miami District 5 Commissioner described it, Entangled is, "A place where we can make each other smile. A space where when you look at it, you automatically have a sense of what is home." Watch the City of Miami's video to see how the installation has added value to the community.
