
David Slade serves as Chief Development Officer at KABOOM!, where he leads the organization’s long-term vision for fundraising and revenue growth. As a member of the executive leadership team, David designs and oversees a multi-year strategy that fuels KABOOM!’s impact and sustainability. He is the principal fundraising strategist and chief relationship architect for the organization’s most significant philanthropic partnerships, aligning revenue planning with enterprise-wide goals.
With more than 25 years of experience across the nonprofit, public sector, media, and sports and recreation industries, David brings a proven track record in donor engagement, major and principal gift fundraising, capital campaigns, and external affairs.
Before joining KABOOM!, David was Chief Development & Marketing Officer at WFYI Public Media, Indiana’s flagship NPR and PBS station, where he led efforts that doubled annual revenue from $11 million to $20 million. He previously held senior roles at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and USTA Foundation, directing national fundraising campaigns that supported tennis and education nonprofits serving under-resourced youth.
Earlier in his career, David was part of the senior fundraising team at the William J. Clinton Foundation, helping raise $165 million to build the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum. He also served in the White House as Associate Director of Scheduling and Advance for Vice President Al Gore, and in the U.S. Department of Justice as a Public Affairs Specialist under Attorney General Janet Reno.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wake Forest University and a Master of Science in Sport Business Management from Manhattanville College, both earned with honors. He lives in North Potomac, Maryland with his husband, Frank, and their son, Mason.
