We are heartbroken to see what is happening in Minnesota and deeply concerned about the impact these events are having on children and families. As an organization that has always been and continues to be committed to the safety and well-being of all kids, we cannot stay silent. No matter how we got to a place of disagreement, the reality is our kids are not okay. They are being affected and suffering because of decisions adults are making. There is very real damage being done to our children’s sense of safety and stability, and as a nation, we will feel these impacts for generations to come.
There is nothing that can ever justify causing harm to a child. And we can’t view the pain of one child — whether in Minnesota or anywhere else — as someone else’s child or someone else’s problem. As a nation, we must do better for every child. We stand in solidarity and support of our partners in Minnesota and are even more committed than ever to continuing to protect and improve the safety, physical health, and mental health of our children.
Our hearts are with kids, families, and partners in Minnesota, and we stand with you as we continue to champion what’s best for all kids.
