This is especially true in the spaces that are designed specifically for kids and families like schools, houses of worship, parks, and playgrounds. An attack on kids in these places is an attack on the very concept of childhood itself, robbing them of this innocent and precious moment in their lives.

Through KABOOM!’s work with partners in Minneapolis, we have come to know the hearts, strength, and resiliency of its people. We know that as difficult as this is, the people of Minneapolis will eventually find a way to turn profound grief into action, even though they shouldn’t have to. Until then, we will stand in mournful solidarity with the children and impacted families of Minneapolis, just as we stood with the families of Uvalde, and of Parkland, and of Sandy Hook, and of Oxford, and of Stone Mountain, and of all the other places that are too numerous to mention where children’s lives have been cut short by these senseless and preventable acts of violence.
