KABOOM! Stands with LGBTQ+ Youth

Our work at KABOOM! is about creating spaces where every kid can experience the joys of childhood and feel like they truly belong. When we say every kid, we mean every kid. States across America are moving to implement a range of laws and policies that endanger LGBTQ+ youth and their families, including banning life-saving healthcare for transgender youth, erasing LGBTQ+ affirming content in classrooms, and limiting participation in sports.

We stand against these and any other actions that target and discriminate against LGBTQ+ youth and their families, making them feel different, unprotected, or marginalized in this country.

Recent data shows that 82% of LGBTQ+ youth experience harassment and 64% have felt unsafe at school because of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation (GLSEN); they also make up 40% of youth experiencing homelessness (True Colors Fund).

Our kids are counting on us to step up and do better. They look to us for guidance and believe what adults say about them. It’s our responsibility to pour positivity, affirmation, and loving care into young people. Every child deserves basic dignity and the right to express their true selves free from harassment and harm, whether they’re at school, at home, on the playground, or anywhere else.

Let’s stand together against any action, policy, or law that is designed to erase the presence, value, or voice of our kids and youth.
