Along a commonly walked path to local schools and parks is a creative bus stop shelter that offers low income kids and families interactive play opportunities. The Veteran's Memorial Bus Stop features LED lights and solar power, Wi-Fi, a painted piano keyboard, a chalkboard, an art wall and a McFarland USA Movie illuminated feature. The bus shelter installation also includes safety features that create an environment where kids and families feel comfortable playing and riding the bus.
Kids in the community were excited to be part of the design and construction of the Veteran's Memorial Bus Stop. This project motivates them to keep their community looking beautiful. The community at large immediately took ownership of the project and continues to embrace it. Families enjoy playing in the space even when they aren't waiting for the bus.
