Your city could win an Imagination Playground in a BOX!

Update 6/1/2009: The application deadline for Playful City USA has passed. The 2009 Playful City USA communities will be announced in July.

There are numerous reasons for cities and towns across the country to apply for Playful City USA status, and here’s one more! Five communities honored with Playful City USA designation in 2009 will receive an Imagination Playground™ in a BOX – the innovative playground collaboration between KaBOOM! and architect David Rockwell!

Applications to become a Playful City USA community in 2009 are available now, as well as the Best Practices in Play Addendum. Communities who submit their application AND the Best Practice Addendum by the early deadline of Apr. 1, 2009 will be eligible to receive an Imagination Playground™ in a BOX – a playground that features a system of loose parts children can put together in limitless combinations, turning a playground into a space constantly built and re-built by their imaginations.

By participating in Playful City USA and submitting a Best Practice in Play, you are working to elevate the cause of play in your community and develop an agenda to benefit all children. KaBOOM! looks forward to sharing your innovative ideas and commitment to play with thought leaders and at national civic conferences like the National League of Cities Congress and Exposition.

So submit your application and Best Practices in Play Addendum before Apr. 1 to be eligible to win an Imagination Playground™ in a BOX!
