Today in Play: New Michelle Obama video, and more!

Play Days

Listen to Anne Pleshette Murphy talk about Play Days on "Sunday Magazine."

Ankeny, Iowa's July 7 Play Day sounds pretty awesome: "The National Guard will host a climbing wall and sidewalk chalk drawing areas will be set up. There will also be games, canoeing, big wheel races and a building workshop for kids."

Northglenn, Colo. is gearing up for its Play Day this weekend, too.

Recent and upcoming playground builds

The ReadyMade blog praises our build with First Lady Michelle Obama. (And speaking of that build, we've aggregated our photos and news articles from it on this page, plus we've added a brand-new video from the build - below!)

Here's a video from a recent playground build in Providence from ABC 6:

Halifax News Net wrote about the brand-new playground built in Halifax, which features "a shiny, modern climbing gym, multiple slides, tunnels, a zip line, swings, freshly painted basketball courts, new hoops, hopscotch, planters, picnic tables, student-painted murals and even an outdoor classroom with wooden benches and a blackboard."

KaBOOM! All-Star Playmaker Antawn Jamison's upcoming playground build in Charlotte was highlighted on the Carolina Tar Heels' website.

The National Academies posted a news brief and links to their playground build photos on their website.

Volunteers in Geneva, Ohio put together a playground with a tree climber, pods, a two-way slide, a cargo net climber and stationary surfboards, thanks in part to a grant from KOOL-AID facilitated by KaBOOM! There's also a shoutout to their website on projects.kaboom.org included in the article. Nice!

The New York Nonprofit Press wrote about the recent playground build with KaBOOM!, KOOL-AID, Rev Run, and Odyssey House.

Here's a call for volunteers for an upcoming community build in Seattle.
