Teen wins volunteer award for building playground

This is fantastic - it's so great to see not only adults and parents taking the lead in building playgrounds for kids in need, but high school students too! Congratulations Holley!

Pascagoula teen state’s top volunteer

Pascagoula teen Holley Cunningham has earned top honors as one of the 2009 top volunteers in the 14th annual Prudential Spirit of Community awards program.

The Prudential Financial group, which announced the winners, partnered with the National Association of Secondary School Principals to honor the top student volunteers in the state.

Resurrection High School nominated Cunningham, a 16-year-old sophomore, for spearheading efforts to have a playground built for disabled children at the Jackson County Exceptional School.
