ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Life is good in St. Petersburg for children. That's according to Mayor Rick Baker, who announced Wednesday that the city received three top national honors.

The city was recognized this week during the America's Promise Alliance National Forum on Youth in Washington D.C., with the following honors:

- St. Petersburg was the only city in America to receive a new Community Build playground, worth $70,000, to be built by volunteers.

- St. Petersburg was named one of 67 "Playful City USA" communities.

- For the third year in a row, the city was named as one of the top 100 Best Communities for Young People. [More]
