Projects with CaliforniaVolunteers push KaBOOM! past 1,600th build

On Saturday, April 25, nearly 2,000 volunteers across the entire state of California will build six playgrounds that will eventually serve more than 50,000 children! The projects mark the third year of a collaboration with CaliforniaVolunteers in which the playspace builds honor the life and legacy of Cesar Chavez.

Six playgrounds will be built in Fullerton, San Bernardino, Fallbrook (San Diego County), Lemoore, Delano (Kern County) and Sacramento with another playground to be built with CalifroniaVolunteers on June 22 in San Francisco. If you’re interested in volunteering, it’s not too late! More information can be found here.

As volunteers across the state are piecing together playground components, moving safety surfacing and mixing concrete, KaBOOM! will also reach its 1,600th build following the completion of the playground projects. These 1,600 playgrounds combine to serve nearly 1 million children every year and we couldn’t have reached this milestone without the help of our funding partners and volunteers from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico!
