According to the Telegraph, the Watford, England city council has banned parents from playgrounds unless they are pre-registered and have criminal background checks beforehand.
That's right, you can't watch your kid on the playground unless you have a BACKGROUND CHECK first.
Here's what the article says:
Only council-vetted "play rangers" are now allowed to monitor youngsters in two adventure areas in Watford while parents must watch from outside a perimeter fence.... Councillors in Watford claim they are only following Government guidelines and cannot allow adults to walk around playgrounds "unchecked".
I'm not going to deny there are adults out there who shouldn't be supervising kids, but geez. I mean, really? Isn't this is a TAD overzealous?
