NFL and KaBOOM! off to Hawaii

NFL Pro Bowl players and KaBOOM! staff will be heading to Hawaii at the end of January, and not to work on our tans. No, we will be building a playground in Waipahu with Procter and Gamble and the YMCA of Honolulu.

This will be the second year that the NFL has partnered with us on building a playground as part of their NFL Pro Bowl Community Blitz, and based on our amazingly successful project last year in Florida, they are excited to do it again.

Over the last few years, NFL PLAY 60 has ramped up its support for KaBOOM! by building playgrounds with us, donating Imagination Playgroundâ„¢ in a Box sets to NYC schools, supporting Play Day grants so that communities can improve their local playspaces, and featuring our Playspace Finder on its website. When we built a playground with the Cleveland Browns in 2010, NFL PLAY 60 even created a virtual KaBOOM!/Browns playground for kids to play with on their site.

We have also worked with loads of NFL teams and players to build playgrounds in their own communities, including Chad Pennington, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Minnesota Vikings this year alone!
