NBA and KaBOOM! partner for unique playground build!

The NBA and KaBOOM! had such a great time building a playground at NBA All-Star 2008 that we decided to do it again! In conjunction with NBA All-Star 2009, KaBOOM! and the NBA will build a wonderful new playground in Phoenix on Feb. 13!

NBA stars will join hundreds of volunteers from the community in helping to build new Weevos and Evos playgrounds at Holiday Park. From Landscape Structures, the Weevos playsystem is designed especially to promote 2- to 5-year-old growth and development in five key areas: physical, cognitive, sensory/motor, emotional/social and language. This will be the first community-build installation of a Weevos playground ever! The Evos playground focuses on children ages 5-12, allowing them to navigate a play structure with no obvious entry or exit points, and where every inch welcomes exploration.

The Phoenix Suns, adidas, the City of Phoenix and the Heatherbrae Neighborhood Association will also be involved in making the playground a reality. This will be the 10th playground built in the last three years by the NBA with KaBOOM! in a partnership that will provide more than 70,000 children with a great place to play.
