Youth-friendliness award paves way for possible grant

Washington County's smallest city has won its second youth-friendly award of the year.

Playful City USA, a recognition program that honors cities around the country for providing children with opportunities to play, recently included Landfall in its list of playful areas. This comes eight months after the town was recognized as one of the top 100 communities for young people by America's Promise Alliance, a group founded by former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
