Health reform plans to emphasize neighborhood design

I'm excited to see this proposal added to the health care reform legislation going through Congress right now. If it passes, local groups would be able to apply for grants to put in infrastructure that promotes healthy living - including playground equipment! Call your representative and senators and voice your support!

"Sweeping health care reform legislation working its way through Congress would allot funding for community projects designed to add walking paths, streetlights, jungle gyms and farmers' markets, the Boston Globe reports. Added to reform legislation at the urging of the Trust for America's Health (TFAH), a proposal would make available community grants to help establish "the infrastructure to support active living and access to nutrition foods in a safe environment.'"
