FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON D.C. (May 18, 2010) —
Giving children a place to play that will get their imaginations going and their heart rates up is an important step toward a healthier generation of kids. That’s why throughout the month of July, 24 Hour Fitness is inviting members at its 425 clubs to help bring play back into the lives of children by making a donation to KaBOOM!. Members will receive recognition at each club and their contributions will help build and improve playgrounds across the country in neighborhoods where kids need them most.
You can support the cause this month at 24 Hour Fitness: visit your local 24 Hour Fitness club to donate at the front desk or make a donation online at kaboom.org/donate. All funds collected through the program will help KaBOOM! build and improve playgrounds across the country in neighborhoods where kids need them most. KaBOOM! is the national non-profit dedicated to giving all kids – particularly those growing up in poverty in America – the childhood they deserve filled with balanced and active play, so they can thrive. Since 1996, KaBOOM! has collaborated with partners to build, open or improve nearly 16,700 playgrounds, engaged more than one million volunteers and served 8.5 million kids. KaBOOM! creates great places to play, inspires communities to promote and support play, and works to drive the national discussion about the importance of play in fostering healthy and productive lives.
