Review for play with Kudzu and KaBOOM!

Kudzu supports KaBOOM! with consumer review fundraiser

Atlanta, GA (November 20, 2009) ·

Active kids need safe spaces to play outside, and busy parents need reliable service professionals to get things done.  So Kudzu and KaBOOM! are bringing the two together.

Consumers who come to to find local professionals online can now review businesses to support KaBOOM!, the national non-profit dedicated to bringing play back into the lives of children.

As part of HGTV and Kudzu’s quest to find America’s favorite home services professionals, KaBOOM! will receive one dollar for each review written from November 20, 2009 through January 31, 2010, to help KaBOOM! build safe playgrounds for kids across America.

“We are excited to work with KaBOOM!” said Tom Bates, vice president of Cox Search Inc. and general manager, Kudzu. “This is a great way for Kudzu users to give back to their community. Not only are they writing reviews to help their neighbors, they are also contributing to the lives of children in their local city.”

Starting November 20, people who want to help KaBOOM! can visit to write reviews. Reviews will be accepted through January 31, 2010.

About Kudzu provides consumers with trusted information about local providers for home, health and other life service needs – and gives small businesses the tools to drive “word of mouth” online.  Launched in 2006, the website features consumer reviews and profiles built by local service businesses. Cox's businesses include Cox Communications, Manheim,, Travel Channel, Adify and other prominent newspapers, TV and radio companies.

KABOOM! is the national non-profit that works to achieve playspace equity. Kids who don’t have access to play miss out on childhood and are denied critical opportunities to build physical, social and emotional health. And all too often, it more deeply affects communities of color. So we amplify the power of communities to build inspiring playspaces that spark unlimited opportunities for every kid, everywhere. KABOOM! has teamed up with partners to build or improve 17,000+ playspaces, engage more than 1.5 million community members and bring joy to more than 11 million kids.
