Seeking Parents for our 2011 Park-A-Day Summer Challenge!

Are you looking for something to do with your kids this summer that:

  • Doesn’t cost much money?
  • Keeps you and your kids active?
  • Presents learning opportunities?
  • Takes you to new places?
  • Contributes to a good cause?
  • Is lots of FUN?

Sign up for the Park-A-Day KaBOOM! Summer Challenge!

As part of the challenge, you will be asked to:

  • Take your children to as many local parks, playgrounds, or other public playspaces this summer as you can. (No, you do not need to visit a park every day. But if it works for your schedule, you can try!)
  • Add and/or review each playspace on the KaBOOM! Map of Play.
  • Swap stories and advice with other Summer Challengers in our Park-A-Day Summer Challenge Discussion Group.

What’s the point?

Most importantly, the Summer Challenge will provide your kids with a cost-effective summer full of outdoor PLAY. Liza Sullivan, a 2010 Summer Challenger, talks about the six essential life skills her children learned last summer.

Our Summer Challenge will also:

  • Help us create a comprehensive map of parks and playgrounds in your hometown.
  • Highlight areas where playspaces are lacking or in need of improvement.
  • Inspire other local parents and kids to get outside, play, and explore this summer.
  • Inspire YOU to become a champion of play for your community.
