Philanthropy Intern (San Mateo)
Reports to:
VP of Philanthropy
Department Description:
The Development team builds funding relationships based on a shared vision, power, resources, and responsibility. The Philanthropy staff is directly responsible for generating revenue streams from non-corporate donors, such as foundations and individual donors.
Key Responsibilities of Internship:
- Assist with database and communications management
- Help to expand the KaBOOM! donor base, through prospecting, research, and pitch brainstorming
- Research philanthropic, economic, and social and community trends that could potentially impact KaBOOM! and provide a regular weekly updates to Philanthropy Team
- Conduct donor research, stay abreast of donors news, and provide regular updates to Philanthropy Team
- Assist with outreach materials for individuals and foundations
Key Qualifications:
- Proficient in the use of databases, and Microsoft Office products
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and activities effectively
- Excellent researching, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in fast paced environment with tight deadlines
Preferred Degree Concentration:
- Communications
- English
- History
- Non-Profit Management
- Public Affairs / Public Policy
- Other related fields
Work Hours:
- Approximately 15-25 hours per week.
Length of Internship:
- Between 8-12 weeks.
Salary/Stipend:
- This is an unpaid internship.
