Outreach Intern
Reports to:
Client Services Coordinator
Department Description:
The Client Services Team consists of the Outreach Team and the Account Management Team. The Outreach Team is responsible for identifying and selecting quality Community Partners (nonprofit organizations, schools, etc) for each project that match KaBOOM! Funding Partners' investment interests and that meet specific KaBOOM! criteria. The Account Management Team manages relationships with KaBOOM! Funding Partners, ensuring that the Funders needs are met and that they have understood and appreciated the KaBOOM! Build model.
Key Responsibilities of Internship:
- Identify potential Community Partners via internet research, networking, email and phone conversations
- Communicate KaBOOM! opportunities, benefits and obligations to prospective community organizations
- Lead re-organization of central playground filing system for team - shared filing system on internal server
- Assist team in processing incoming community partner applications
- Assist team in follow-up of applications in order to obtain necessary information or paperwork, making referrals to grants or other internal programs as applicable
- Assist in scheduling cross-departmental internal meetings
- Provide general administrative support to Client Services Team
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Key Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Internet Research Techniques
- Possess strong aural skills, comfortable working with groups over the phone.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail, willingness to take initiative.
- Strong interest and desire to learn about a nonprofit organization, and issues surrounding the quality of children’s lives and the state of urban communities.
- Computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; previous database management experience a plus!
Preferred Degree Concentration:
- No preference.
Work Hours:
- 30-35 hours per week.
Length of Internship:
- Flexible, approximately 8+ weeks.
Salary/Stipend:
- This is an unpaid internship.
