KaBOOM! National Campaign for Play

The KaBOOM! National Campaign for Play is our strategy to raise the issue of play to one of national importance.

It is a grassroots/grasstops initiative driven by local citizens and municipalities. It is about action, empowerment, local voices and the welfare of our children. This campaign is intended to inspire and support others to take action to create a playful community, a playful city, a playful nation! The KaBOOM! National Campaign for Play incorporates two signature KaBOOM! programs: Playful City USA and the Playmaker Network.

Playful City USA
When play becomes a priority, the entire community benefits. That’s why KaBOOM! honors communities that create an agenda for play. The growing network of Playful City USA communities share their experiences, develop exciting programs to support the health and well-being of their children, and strengthen their framework for a successful agenda on play. Help your city become a Playful City USA community and a national role model leading the way for play.

Playmaker Network
The Playmaker Network is a national network made up of individual advocates, deemed Playmakers, each working at the local level to ensure an abundance of time and space for play in their community. Become an activist for play with exclusive access to our tools, resources and special trainings. As a Playmaker you will be equipped to speak out at school board and city council meetings, create a Play Day in your community or lead the community playground project of your dreams!
