Hello Everyone,

In late September/early October there will be a Walla Walla Wine Country Wine Tour & Private Tasting fundraiser.

The fundraising idea came from one of the committee members who owns a wine club. So we approached a "tour" company in Walla Walla and they have volunteered to sponsor the event (at no charge).

There are over 80 wineries in the Walla Walla Valley and this company will handle everything from food, setting up the private tours, marketing the event, and they provide all transportation to and from wineries....so no one has to drive.

All of the proceeds from this event will go toward our project.

A title hasn't been decided yet - I am open for ideas!

Apparently, they have done tours for other child-related non-profit organizatons in the area, and they said they thought we could bring in about $3000 from the event. They said that Walla Walla loves to support their wineries and especially when proceeds are for a good cause!

So, if any of you live in an area where "wine" is up and coming or very prominent, you might want to find out if a "tour" company, winery, or travel agency would be willing to sponsor an event for you.

If any of you have done one of these before and have suggestions please let me know. This will be a very classy event.

Oooh Walla Walla is such a fun place!  I have a friend that grew up there-- dad's last name was Lang.  Great man...  it's a beautiful area.  What a neat idea to do a wine tasting fundraiser!  For a title you could do a play off of the Slip N Slide toy, and call it Sips N Slides...
