Canister fundraiser

We had canisters made up by a local sign company.  A laminated sign displaying a picture of the future playground was attached with a industrial size paper clip.  The canister look like the cylinder tootsie roll containers at stores.  They have a slot at the top.  We placed the canisters at area businesses.  We average anywhere from $150 to $250 a week in donations.  Our community is very small, so I imagine this would work great in larger communities.  The best part is the canisters and signs were donated by the sign company.

That's a great idea! Have you been able to reach your goal and build your playground? Were there other fundraisers that you used to supplement this one?

We are a very small community and we have raised around $2500 with the canisters.  We also did a Texas Hold 'em tournament, gift wrapping, and a golf outing.  Our goal is $50,000 and we are at $42,000 with an October build date.
