Hamburger Helper is giving away up to $15,000 for projects. They listed a few examples. One was lights or bleachers for a baseball field. Another was playground equipment for a park.
I don't know anyone who has gotten one of these so I don't know if it's a gimmick for selling that Hamburger Helper stuff. If anyone does, will you let me know?

We have had an application in there for several months now... I don't think it is a gimmick per se--they really do seem to be awarding grants to various hometowns. There is a part on the website that you can click on to see who has been awarded each month. There have been a couple of playgrounds, but I'm guessing they are trying to go for variety at this point, and as you can see they've awarded a wide range of projects. I'm still crossing my fingers.
