On the news recently KaBoom was mentioned regarding a new playground in inner-city Grand Rapids, MI that partnered with Amway Corp. Which is way I'm on the site.
I'm involved with a elementary school parent club where the school has just turned 50 yers old. Some of our parents believe that the playground equipment has been there since they attended class there. So we are starting to try and replace some of it. Is KaBoom something that would be helpful in achieving this?
Is KaBoom something that would be helpful in achieving this?
The short answer? Yes!
The long answer? Yes and here is how!
KaBOOM! is a national nonprofit that empowers communities to build playgrounds. We do that by connecting funding partners with community organizations (typically nonprofits) and helping them through the process of rallying their community together to build a playground in one day. We also provide lots of free, online tools and workshops to empower people to build playgrounds on their own.
So where should you get started?
First, visit our Community Partners page and learn if your community fits the criteria to become a community partner with KaBOOM!. If you think your school will fit, fill out and a Playground Profile Application (download it with using the big purple button on the bottom of the page).
While your application is undergoing review, take advantage of the KaBOOM! Do-it-Yourself resources. There are many different ways you can learn about community playground builds on our site:
