Congratulations, Sammy12! Hard work and persistence pay off!
And look...we've made you Internet famous.
:-) Keep up the awesome work!
That's wonderful, Sammy! Congratulations! Take one thing at a time. Listen carefully at the meeting. There might be issues with the land -- ownership, soil quality, zoning... any number of things. If this falls through, have faith that another opportunity will come up.
Listen for what else you can get out of the group that is donating the land. Is it an organization or a school? They might be able to tap into people willing to sit on planning committees. Look around the room for familiar or excited faces at the town meeting. You might see some people who would be willing to help with the planning.
That will be your next step. You need to start planning for fundraising.
Having land makes the project "real". You might find that people are more open to helping out.

Congrats Sammy12!
You can use this article to help you find a landscpaing company that is interested in donating trees and other supplies, restaurants that will want to give you food to feed volunteers, and others who will want to be a part of doing something good in Phoenix, NY.
Who knows, maybe you can recruit some folks who want to help you between now and Thursday, so that they can provide additional voices of support and be part of this story as it grows in your community.
Keep up the great work!
I would just add that a good next step is to establish a network of advocates around you. Think about all the different folks you interact with on a regular basis—your neighbors, your friends, parents, teachers, people you might know in service groups such as the Boys and Girl Scouts, Junior League or Kiwanis and more! Each could be your greatest ally in play, and together as a group you can get more things done! Take a look at some ways we suggest to get your network established.
Yours in Play,
Brooke
Congratulations again! Like Amy said, hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Hopefully this will be the perfect lot. Your media coverage is going to help you out a ton, and keep trying to obtain more positive news! The more out in the public eye you are, the more people will know about your cause, and the more donations you might receive.
Good Luck!
