More About Me
In my endeavors as Code Enforcement Officer of the City of Canton, I organized the Great American Clean Up 2007. As part of the clean up, I created a partnership with members of Team Depot in an effort to revitalize an urban park in our community. Team Depot member Marcelle Robustelli directed me to Kaboom in an effort to assist with funding and/or donations for our much needed community-build. Since our city is small we couldn't qualify for the Kaboom Grant so I searched through the site and learned about Playful City USA. Burge Park is a small area in one of the older sections of our city. Recently, the area has started to come alive with new construction, demolition of unsafe older structures and renovation of the older homes. The park located in the center of the community currently has a set of two metal swings, a metal slide and a basketball area. There are children of all ages in this area that need a place to play. By beautifying and upgrading this park, we hope to bring back the life of the community and keep the children safe and healthy.
