| Hi! I'm Julie, I am a mother of three, grandmother of two and operate a licensed daycare in my home. I have been a foster parent for many years, and adopted a little boy after my biological children were grown. I have been an advocate for children all of my adult life. I have been involved in the PTO, local community organizations, ladies FOP, Democratic Central Committee, PIE Coalition, Girl Scouts, and also been a room mother for all of my children. I also raise Yorkshire Terriers and love to scrapbook.
We have recently organized The Cloverdale Civic League to beautify our commuinty and improve the quality of life. Our first major project is the revitalization of our community park. Our community park is run down and the equipment is dangerous. There are no soccer fields and very few public sidewalks in our community. Our hopes are to build a new play structure, improve the existing shelter house and restrooms, make the entire park handicap accessible, improve parking, utilize empty field space for two soccer fields and build a walk path around the entire park. Our 6 month old Civic League is excited and ambitious about our projects. I hope to come away from the KaBoom conference with first hand build experience, fundraising ideas, grant opportunties, inside information on play equipment and park layout ideas. I have also already experienced benefits from the forum of individuals throughout the country trying to do similar things in their communities. We have received a Scholarship to help us attend this conference. Thank you KaBoom!
