| More About Me |
| I come from Auburn, NY, a small city outside of Syracuse. I currently live in Silver Spring, MD with my wife, daughter and son. Growing up, I loved to hike and camp in the Adirondacks Mountains, a great place to play! I also loved to play on the climber in my backyard and ride my bike all over the place. My favorite hang out was the local park that had nature trails and a great pond for skipping rocks. My love of nature and the outdoors led me to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse.
After graduating, I worked as an environmental educator at the Living Classrooms Foundation (LCF) in Baltimore. While at LCF, I worked aboard a historical sailboat (skipjack) teaching kids about the Chesapeake Bay. I also spent time at the Maryland Science center where I got to make lightening and make peoples' hair stand on end!
After working in Baltimore, I joined the team at the National Tree Trust (NTT), where I managed the seedling and monetary grant program. It was here that I was able to be involved in helping organizations improve the health of their community through planting and maintaining trees. After working at NTT, I spent three years in New York City, overseeing the community gardening program for the City. This experience helped solidify my passion for community building. I work at KaBOOM! and am delighted and excited to work with so many great people to realize our vision of a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America!
