I'm the Manager of Training and Education for KaBOOM! I've been at KaBOOM! since December 2004 and I've loved every minute of it! We're the perfect balance of spirit, hard work, and purple (although currently I'm wearing neon green - the color of U Play!).
To give you some background on me, I grew up outside of Richmond, VA in the land of strip malls and station wagons. I spent most of my time riding my bike, playing sports, and dragging my younger sister on all sorts of "outdoor adventures." After high school, I attended the University of Virginia, majoring in American Studies - an English / History combo that thrills every parent who wants her child to make a living.
I then entered the Teach for America Corps and taught second grade for two years in inner city Baltimore. After my two year commitment was over, I applied to KaBOOM! - a nonprofit committed to building great places to play! The rest is history.
So there you have it. I shall return to preparing for Workshop Entirely on Play (WE Play!) in Salt Lake City. Wanna come? Good. Sign up!
