More About Me
We are the Ridgewood Park Action Group, a group of neighborhood residents interested in renovating our existing playground. Most of the current equipment in our park was installed in 1987 and since that time, use and weather has caused a slow deterioration. Our equipment is partially dismantled, boarded-up, unsightly, out of complaince and generally unsafe. Although the park is owned by the Park District, they do not have the funds to provide a complete over-haul of the playground. We believe that our children deserve a safe, fun and interesting play space and are dedicated to providing that for them. We would like to encourage our children to play outdoors rather than giving in to the temptations of computers and video games and other sedentary indoor activities. To date, we have raised almost $20,000 through neighborhood donations and fundraising. We have initial plans from our equipment distributer and are waiting to hear what funds will be available to us through the Park Board. We will be building an awesome park July 28, 2007! Thanks KaBoom!
