More About Me
Hello, My name is Jeanette Fureigh and in January of 2007, I formed a playground committee at my daughter's school (Bertha Neal, Durand, Michigan) in order to update the playground. The following 8 months showed very successful results thanks to the guidance we received from KaBOOM! Bertha Neal had equipment that needed repairing and also needed more equipment for the preschool and kindergarten students. On August 4, 2007, we created a seperate playstructure and area designated for the younger children. We also painted existing equipment, added engraved paver walkways and planted trees. Our Build Day was perfect and went better then we expected. The planning we put into it was enhanced greatly by the UPlay and WePlay trainings and builds that I was able to participate in. I also found the online forums very beneficial! We were able to pull off some successful fundraisers and have several donations made in a short amount of time. The total value of the project (equipment and build day supplies) is just over $32,000! We plan to continue our improvements to the playground with annual fundraising events and the help of volunteers!
