The school playgrounds of our parents and grandparents looked a lot different than modern plastic marvels – but although less fancy and new-fangled, they were probably used more often. That’s because today’s schools have been limiting time spent outside at recess while increasing the rules and regulations that surround playtime activities. Administrators have begun to recognize the need for equipment that is more age-appropriate, however, which can increase safety and fun for the children utilizing the playground.
