From WLOX-TV in South Mississippi: Hurricane Katrina not only destroyed our homes and businesses it also destroyed many of the playgrounds where our children enjoyed playing on monkey bars, swings and slides. But one national nonprofit agency is turning around what Katrina destroyed.

KaBOOM! has promised to rebuild 100 playgrounds from Bay St. Louis to Pascagoula between now and December 2007. The group's vision is for every child to have a great place to play within walking distance of their home.

The next playground is scheduled to be built in Ocean Springs in early December.

We urge everyone to take part in a KaBOOM! playground project. This would be a great way for all of us to say thank you to this organization, its volunteers and corporate sponsors for making such a difference in the lives of our children.
