MONSON - Schoolchildren here flooded Cartoon Network offices with about 1,300 pleas to "Rescue Recess" this spring, earning the Parent, Teacher, and Student Association a $5,000 grant to support health and recreation efforts.
The Cartoon Network, as part of its "Get Animated" program, offered the grants to parent-teacher organizations whose districts submitted the most student letters in their state, according to a press release issued by Lisa Stringham, a Chicago-based publicist for the television network and the National PTA organization. |
