Residents of a housing complex with a reputation for violence and fear are building hope by constructing a playground.

Over 250 volunteers gathered yesterday to build the playground at the Oriole Crescent and Martha Street housing complex, where 27 per cent of the residents live in poverty. That's one of the highest rates in Hamilton.
