PALMDALE - An army of volunteers constructed a playground on May 11 for the children who live at the Palmdale Desert Club Apartments, 37902 20th St. East.
The effort was the culmination of months of planning that included design requests by the children, funding and volunteer support from Home Depot, organization by InSite Development and the nonprofit Housing Corporation of America and nonprofit grant-finder KaBOOM!
"It was a very successful project," said Corey Heimlich, InSite director of resident services. "It was a phenomenal event. We had 200 to 250 people there throughout the day." |
