Flavor nearly upsets popular standard as more than 60,000 votes are cast in Ben & Jerry's Flavor Graveyard competition
It was a fight to the finish and KaBerry KaBOOM! nearly came out on top. On Monday, August 15, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream officially declared KaBerry KaBOOM! the second place winner in its 'Raise a Flavor' contest. The winning flavor, expected to be Wavy Gravy, will be announced on August 22 and return to Ben & Jerry scoop shops for a limited time this fall.
KaBerry KaBOOM! is a yummy, tongue-tingling combination of strawberry and blueberry ice cream with white fudge and cracklin' candies. Retired in 2003, KaBerry KaBOOM! became nothing more than a delicious memory for its devoted fans.
KaBOOM! employees worked valiantly to save the flavor, volunteering at Ben & Jerry Scoop Shops on free cone day, distributing 'Save KaBerry KaBOOM!' buttons and creating an e-mail get-out-the-vote campaign. The hard work earned KaBerry KaBOOM! more than 10,000 votes.
"I am thrilled that so many fans of KaBerry KaBOOM! logged on in April and May to bring back the flavor that supports a child's right to play," said Darell Hammond, KaBOOM! co-founder and CEO. "As the biggest fan of KaBerry KaBOOM!, I'm disappointed that we weren't able to bring it back, but I'm heartened by all of the support we received from kids of all ages during the competition."

Boomers Christopher Romero and Kisha Thompson volunteer at a Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop in Chicago on Free Cone Day, urging customers to vote to bring back KaBerry KaBOOM! from the Flavor Graveyard
