KaBOOM! Kicks Off 2006 Trainings with WE Play! LA

KaBOOM! kicked off our 2006 trainings this month with our free Workshop Entirely on Play (WE Play!) in Los Angeles.  We packaged a decade of our community-build leadership experience into the day-long training event attended by more than 60 individuals representing organizations from eight different states and one Canadian province!

WE Play! LA sessions included The Importance of Play; The KaBOOM! Community-Build Roadmap; Selecting a Playspace Site, Equipment and Safety Surfacing; and Effective FUNdraising Strategies.  At KaBOOM!, we know some of the best learning takes place when we turn over the classroom and just listen, so attendees also had time to share their ideas and best practices with one another.

If you are an attendee of WE Play! LA or other KaBOOM!, trainings, we want to hear from you!  The first person to post a comment with their thoughts on WE Play! LA will receive a special gift.

Tell us…

  • Any interesting developments that have taken place with your project since WE Play!;
  • Specific requests for ideas and best practices from other Portal users that might help you with your project planning; or
  • Ideas and best practices that you would like to share with other Portal users that might help them with their project planning.

Southside Unity in the House!,

Boy did we have fun!
In the beginning I thought that I sat at the wrong table, but at the end of the day. We hated to leave with out sharing more information about each other's build plans and success stories. Thanks KABOOM for hosting such a informative event. I have since shared the information that I learned with the entire city of Spartanburg. Our teams are hosting a strategic planning meeting which will be headed by a professional PR company (The Palladian Group) who have donated up to 60 hrs.of in-kind service to Spartanburg Park it Day! Yeah! Now didn't I tell yall that I was coming home to Kaboomatize this city. Thanks to you guys. Southside Unity in the Community will be successful in our efforts.
Thanks for the energy boost!
