Hold Design Day
Next to the build itself, Design Day may be your most exciting event. Imagine children creating their perfect playground with bright colors and elements that only children could imagine (our favorite: a pool full of M&Ms!). Or imagine young skaters telling you exactly what they need to push their limits and still have flow of movement. Design Day will give you the chance to teach kids about the power of volunteerism and civic organizing, and give them a real sense of ownership toward their playspace ― it's one of the most important elements of any community build. Who can resist making a child's dream come true? Design Day will get everybody in the community talking about the new playspace, and it's a great time to remind them that it can't happen without their financial support. You can go to prominent places around town and post the drawings made by your "playspace experts," as well as the official design poster from your equipment manufacturer.
